Samuel Pompeo, a Brazilian saxophonist, arranger, and composer, is a prominent figure in the instrumental music scene of Brazil. He has collaborated with renowned global music artists such as Gilberto Gil, Jon Anderson (Yes), Alice Cooper, Fito Paes, Toquinho, Ivan Lins, and Daniel. Additionally, he has performed in concerts alongside important jazz figures like Banda Mantiqueira, Tad Nash, Ohad Talmor, Gilson Peranzzetta, and Ryan Keberle. As a music educator, he teaches workshops and masterclasses in Brazil and abroad, and he is a professor at the São Paulo Municipal School of Music and at the "Fiato Al Brasile" festival in Italy.
He holds a doctorate from the University of Aveiro in Portugal and São Paulo State University (UNESP) in Brazil. His academic journey included an international joint supervision program, where he explored a challenging academic path and proposed artistic responses that expanded the possibilities for musical creation and performance. He is a member of the Center for Musicology of Penedo (CEMUPE), leads the Samuel Pompeo Quintet, and actively participates in the Soundscape Big Band and the Mark Lambert Big Band.
